Day 284 cont. - Yahooooooooo!

My laptop cord came and works!

Melvin is so happy.

Now to lock the cord away in a secret closet where the cats cannot get to it.

Day 284 - Oh Technology: Part 2

My little laptop, Melvin, is not charging. I believe the cord is screwed up because the cats have nibbled on the part that plugs into my laptop and it doesn't fit correctly.

After going to Best Buy Monday afternoon and purchasing a Universal plug for Asus netbooks, I discovered Universal meant all netbooks except mine.

And then, after the Brit took me back to Best Buy that night, I only discovered that they do not have one for mine and I have to specially order it.

So, I've ordered one and it should be coming today or tomorrow.

But now I'm panicking that it might not be the cord. What if it's my laptop or something that is the problem? I just want the damn cord here already so I can figure it out.

So, for now, I'm using my old, giant laptop that is slooooooow.

I miss the days of pen and paper.

Day 283 - Oh Technology

My digital camera appears to be totally broken. The lens will not go back in despite the fact that it is off.

I am considering having someone look at it, but I've been having little problems with it for some time now.

Getting a new camera would be exciting if I did lots of research, but I'd want one before the holidays so I can take lots of pictures.

Worst part? My nails are a cute new blue and I can't take a picture. Woe is me.

Day 83 - Enough Is Enough

Dear Technology,

I've had enough. You were once useful when you were things like toasters and air conditioners. But now you are things like Facebook, Twitter and too many different kinds of phones that no one really needs. (except for the iPhone with applications that choose restaurants for you...awesome).

It's not that I don't like the internet (I mean, I do blog), but when was the last time I went to a library. And what information is really true...anything can be published online! It gets me wondering if children even go to libraries for school anymore and have to learn how to find books.

And what is with reading books off of Kindles? Ew.

You've gone too far technology. You make me want to delete my Facebook (but can't because some people are only reachable this way!). Now people Twitter about Twitter. And everyone expects you to respond to an email or text within seconds. First, I'm a slow texter. Second, I put my phone on silent because I hate phones. Third, occasionally people do have to use the bathroom.

Why can't you go back to bringing us quick ways to cook and creating new things instead of a million phones/ways to listen to music and stupid sites to update our sad lives. What was so wrong with records or cassette tapes?

Well they were too big to travel, you say.

But really, they were way cooler. Records, not cassettes.

Oh, why haven't you created the flying car (I don't mean planes) or a way for me to teleport? That would be useful.

Signed,
Me
