I know! Slacker blogger!
But, here is my life update because I've been soooooooo busy. Not really. But I have been soooooooo lazy.
A couple weekends ago I got together with Legal Eagle and her bf, so much fun. We did a mini bar crawl and just caught up on absolutely everything.
This upcoming weekend I will be down there with the Brit for LE and her bf's birthdays. No big plans, we will just go out or something, but should be fun. And then her graduation will be coming up. That will be insane because a ton of her family is coming out for it. I'm super excited. And I have an awesome grad present in my head if I can get it all together.
Last weekend, I went camping (yes) with the Brit and his friends. It was a new experience, but overall pretty good. I ate camp food, sat by a fire, got a little chilly, but wore about 5 shirts, slept on hard ground, woke up under the sun, and sort of felt like I was hit by a truck in the morning. But I swear, it wasn't that bad and I learned that I need a cushier sleeping arrangement if I do this again.
Work has been not too bad. Reworked my schedule and I think it will be good for me.
Barbar is fabulous as always. He is loving cuddling right now and tends to rest a paw on me when we go to bed. I know, so sweet, yet slightly odd.
Hmmmm....what else?
It's nice here. Sunny, but isn't it always?
Oh! I have to get cranking on summer blockbusters. I haven't even thought about when to see them and I don't have a chart put together. Someone needs to get their priorities straight!!

Day 322 - What's Going On?

Day 321 - R.I.P. Speedy
The Brit's 6-year-old goldfish Speedy passed away this weekend.
He started to look ill on Friday night. I went over on Saturday and saw him struggling. We believe he had nitrate poisoning which comes from the water not being changed soon enough and there being too much food on the pebbles in the tank, or something like that.
Speedy passed away early Sunday evening. Big Wig seemed to be ill, but he is doing great now.
We believe Speedy, unfortunately, started to suffocate and there wasn't much to do to help him.
The Brit was actually cooking dinner when I was keeping an eye on Speedy and noticed his breathing had slowed considerably. I called the Brit in and we actually saw what was his last gill movement. Basically, we watched him die.
The Brit has taken this very hard because he feels like he killed him and that he should have done this or that or something else that would have saved him. I've been telling him he doesn't know if anything could have saved Speedy so he can't think like that.
He is doing better now, especially since Big Wig is doing well.
I hope Speedy is in fish heaven with the beach ball I always told him I would find for him someday so he could have something to play with in his tank.

Day 320 - A Free Show And A $5 Cookie
Earlier this week I ended up getting to go to a free show at the Pantages theater.
Let me explain:
The Brit was meeting up with some friends for a drink and invited me to join. I said I would after I finished work and everything.
When I got the The Frolic Room, I found out that his friend who works there and some others had gotten free tickets to the opening night of Rain.
The Brit and I decided we would stay for a drink or two. However, they had one extra ticket and I had suggested the Brit take it since I could tell he really wanted to go. He turned it down and the rest left to get to the show (next door).
So we ordered a drink and were just chatting when a guy who worked at the show came in and asked if anyone wanted two tickets. He asked a guy who had been talking to the Brit's friends and the guy told him, "They do!"
We were then given the two tickets and had about five minutes to go.
The Brit told me to drink what I could and then let's go! I then said I felt like I was in college and finished about half my beer.
When we got the the theater they scanned our tickets and told us they had already been used. I started to internally freak.
They asked us if we had already been in and we said no. The guy asked the Brit if he bought the tickets and the Brit said we bought them off the street.
Then I really freaked and thought we were going to be arrested for scalping when we didn't even do that. The guy then told us to wait and he would check out the seats to see if someone else was in them. When he returned, he said they were empty! And we were in!
Well, we had to wait a little bit until there was a break because the show had just started ... but then we were in!
The show was so much fun. The Brit was pretty much dancing in his seat and we got up and danced during the show for certain songs. The seats were pretty much in the back so at least we got to be as silly as we wanted. At one point in the show a older guy was up in our area trying to get people to stand and dance. The Brit said that was him in 25 years. I said, "No, that's my dad now." And it totally was, that guy who wants everyone to dance to music.
During the intermission we bought a $5 cookie. It was a rather oversized cookie.
We returned to the show and enjoyed the rest of it, dancing some more and singing along.
All in all, it was awesome. Even though I wasn't dressed the way I would have wanted to be dressed. Not that I don't love going to the theater in jean mini skirts.
After the show, we met back up with the Brit's friends at The Frolic Room and spotted Emma Stone there! I was so freaking excited.
It was a really great night. And free. Except the cookie. But that was delicious.

Day 319 - Something For The Weekend
My weekends mostly suck because I work on them. Basically, my weekends and weekdays melt together.
However, I have a new plan. I will start working at this lovely cafe on Saturdays. I started this just this weekend and it was awesome. Delicious coffee and red velvet pancakes! They were good, but a couple hours later I felt like I was in a sugar coma. Next time, I will ease up on the sweet. But, I think this will be a nice change to my otherwise hum-drum weekends.
Also, Legal Eagle came up today to chill in Beverly Hills. It was fabulous and ended with a milkshake cupcake from Crumbs. Schatzi, her cat, will be coming to stay with me and Barbar this weekend! The boys will be reunited as she is heading out of town for a few days.
Hmmm...I think that's all. Bye!

Day 318 - I'm Glad Barbar Is So Popular
I really need to stop talking about how adorable Barbar is because he is becoming way too popular.
The Brit continues to tell me how much he loves Barbar and how I hit the cat lottery. Even when Barbar does something bad like steps on his laptop, the Brit forgives him in a heartbeat.
Now, it has gotten worse.
Some time ago, the Brit took a picture on his phone of Barbar sleeping with his sardine.
He apparently sent that photo to his mom. He has told his mom stories about Barbar (she has two cats herself so she is a cat person).
His mom loved the picture of Barbar! He said she thought it was so cute. It sounds like they talk about Barbar quite a bit.
I'm getting a little jealous...of my cat.
I wonder if she thinks the Brit is dating Barbar?

Day 317 - Oh, Here I Am
Ugh, I will come back here soon.
I have been too busy and lazy.
Plus, I don't really know what to write.
Wah, wah, wah.
Barbar is sleeping on my office chair.
Goodnight!

Day 316 - March 29th ...
... will be my first day off in 8 months!
I can't freaking wait!!
To enjoy it, the Brit and I are taking an overnight trip to Vegas.
Wazooooooooooooo!

Day 315 - Works For Humans, Works For Cats
Barbar plays fetch a lot. And when you throw his stuffed sardine, he just goes for it.
The only problem with this is sometimes he doesn't look before he turns to run.
The other day he ran square into one of my little tables. I even heard a thud when his head hit the leg of the table.
He then stood there a little shocked and I scooped him up. I then did a test to make sure his eye sight was fine. I did that moving finger thing and his eyes seemed to follow.
He has rebounded and seems 100% fine now. But now I will be a bit more careful about furniture that is around before I throw the sardine.

Day 314 - Somehow I Now Find Myself In A Relationship
The Brit and I have been sailing along for months now and I haven't really wondered about our "status" because I've felt like I've been treated right this whole time and it has seemed relationship-y/exclusive.
But, in the last month or so, it has completely unfolded before me that I'm in a relationship.
The Brit was actually the one who brought it to my attention.
So, what's been going on?
Well, it started maybe a month or so ago when we were hanging out and talking about how he can't burp or doesn't burp or rarely burps (I know, romantic), but then he said, "When in our relationship have you known me to burp?"
I forgot about the burp talk and just thought, "Oh?! Relationship?!" It was nice to hear since we've never had any sort of discussion about things, but we have grown to spend more time together, text more and we even talked on the phone. I know, weird.
Then the other day we went hiking. We've started this up as he wants to get working out again and lives near an awesome trail in LA where dogs run all around. We stopped to sit on a bench and it must have been a little wobbly because we almost flipped it over. He was making some joke about it and then said, "We'd be the couple of the moment."
Why does couple seem so much different than relationship? I mean, they're basically the same, but couple is like, oh, couple!
The thing that sort of solidified everything is that I know he has mentioned me to his mom more than once. Let's discuss:
First time: I snooped at his birthday card on his TV and saw that she wrote something like "Have fun at your dinner." That has to be reference to the birthday dinner I took him to since there was nothing else it would be about.
Second time: I heard him on the phone in the other room once when he called his mom back saying he was hanging out with me tonight.
Third time: He admitted to telling her a story about Barbar. Yes, Barbar. That cat is popular.
Most recent time: We were deciding what to make for dinner and he wanted to do something his family used to do. So he called his mom and said, "Molly and I are going to cook..." and, since he was driving, she was on speaker and was not like "Who is Molly?"
And one more thing, I was talking about my middle sister's surprise birthday trip in July and he was all like, "When is it?" I told him the early July dates and then he said, "OK, so you will be around for your birthday?" I'm glad that he's sort of OK with looking a little in the future. It was nice to hear.
So, here I am. It's weird. But nice. But no, we are still not Facebook friends and that's just the way I like it.

Day 313 - I Am Alive, Promise!
Yikes, I didn't realize I hadn't written in so long.
Work has just been very busy. And other stuff I'm sure.
But, after having a breakdown over work in front of the Brit the other day, I will be taking a day off. Yay! Now to just inform my boss.
Oh, and the Brit got to see me cry. And he survived. I think he was just relieved it wasn't over anything he did since it happened out of nowhere. It was seriously a spontaneous combustion. But he suggested we go for a walk and handled my crying very well. I, on the other hand, looked awesome crying. I tried to hide my face which led to the spreading of tears which led to matted bangs and such.
Barbar is well. He has a girlfriend who is in the area outside my kitchen window and he is trying to romance her. She rolls around on the ground all cute. She is a little fluff ball.
Sorry for the short post, I need dinner now!
