Today I have the sniffles.
It's so incredibly annoying. But it is a good excuse to put my laptop to sleep after this post, zone out on TV and go to bed very early.
I hope to wake up tomorrow sniffle-free!
Wish me luck.

Day 336 - Sneezy

Day 335 - It's 2012!
I know, bad blogger.
But I just wanted to say I'm here. And planning on writing some more.
Christmas in Florida was fabulous.
^ See? Fabulous.
New Year's Eve was also fabulous. The Brit and I cooked dinner at my place and then went to a little bar across the street close to midnight. We danced like dancing fools. I'm pretty sure it was pretty embarrassing.
So far, things are good this year. I'm trying to get things back in order so I can start working on some new stuff. Time to get my mess together!
Oh! Legal Eagle is engaged! And I'm the maid of honor. Uh oh! She seems very excited and won't make me wear something ugly. Yay!
OK, I need to go do dishes...I shall be back more often though.

Day 334 - Xmas In The Air
Today I went Christmas shopping. Holy exhaustion!
I totally thought I had a game plan, but it's very easy to get thrown off when one place doesn't have what you want. Then I temporarily fell apart and had to stop for lunch...but of course. Luckily, lunch fixes everything.
I was pretty successful and found about 50 things I wanted (I bought none).
Now, Barbar and I are chilling out and about to make hot chocolate.
But, I wish I had some booze to put in it. Fail.

Day 333 cont. - Batman!
Me: Where was your garage? (talking about the house the Brit grew up in)
The Brit: Well, it was under part of it.
Me: What?!
The Brit: Yeah.
Me: So it wasn't like next to it?
The Brit: Well, it was next to it, but under it, too.
Me: That is so cool.
The Brit: Yeah, it was near the front door, but then there was part of the house, like an extension, over it.
Me: Oh...
The Brit: What?
Me: I thought you meant your garage was underground.
Next time: Our conversation about cul de sacs.
Day 333 - Oh, You're There...
Hello! I am alive!
So much has been going on lately. Basically, I went home to Chicago for Thanksgiving and will be going to Daytona Beach with the family for Christmas. So excited!!
Work is fine...same old, same old. Going to try to work on some new things after the holiday. Wish me luck with stopping my laziness.
Barbar is doing well. He has so many toys, but it's good because he loses so many of them under my chair.
Oh! Legal Eagle is an official lawyer!!! She passed her big old Bar exam. Yay!
Meanwhile, I got a Mac. I quite like it but feel like I am now one of those Mac people. I'm completely annoyed with myself. Plus, when you get a Mac, if you need accessories like a mouse, you have to stick with Mac and their products are not cheap. That being said, I also feel like I am now in some sort of cool kids Mac club. God, so annoying.
The Brit (is that what I call him?) is still my boyfriend. Oy. His birthday is coming up and I'm super excited. Doing dinner and a show...it'll all be a surprise for him.
I got my last couple of wisdom teeth out last week. It went much better than my last dental experiences. Actually feeling pretty good so far and just looking forward to eating normally again. So happy to have all those teeth out.
I really need to clean my apartment...or rather, finish cleaning. I did some today, but this blog was a much needed break. It's so hard to clean when your cat has so much fur and sheds it everywhere...especially corners hard to get to.
Oh, Schatzi was up here during Thanksgiving so the Brit could cat sit and he said once I left, Schatzi and Barbar were total buds. He thinks they get confused and territorial when one mom (me or LE) is around. Makes me sad I didn't get to see them all sweet together.
OK, my pasta should be done soon. Time to eat!

Day 332 - Who Is This?
I know! I'm basically a missing person as far as this blog is concerned.
But, work has been insane and is finally back to normal. Yay! I was helping my boss with some stuff and a big event.
^See! Still alive. That's me at the event.
Other than that things are pretty good, except I was ill last week from just working too much and not taking care of myself.
Also, I am getting a Mac laptop...delivered today. Long work story that I won't get into. But, I suspect Melvin is getting jealous, which is why I have named my new laptop Mac-used (it's a cheaper, refurbished one). Melvin will always be top dog in this home.
I'm going home for Thanksgiving soon! Yayayayay! I can't wait to go and eat and drink and whatever. I realized I haven't seen my mom in almost a year! Whoa, unacceptable.
Still dating the Brit. He came to my event thingy which was nice. I had to work for most of it, so we couldn't hang out, but got to be together at the after-party.
It's starting to get chilly in LA. How annoying.
OK, time to go back to work. More later.

Day 331 - 'Ello!
Yes, I'm alive and well.
Thought I'd check in since I'm in Beverly Hills where I should be working but my boss moved it back an hour...which isn't bad except he did so about 30 min. before I was supposed to be in, so...since I take the bus, I was already almost here.
I'm very tired...not sleepy but like if a robber was chasing me with all my cash and credit cards in my purse, I probably wouldn't try to outrun him for long kind of tired.
They redid the Starbucks in BH. Ohhh....fascinating, I know!
Even more fascinating, a guy who was once on a reality show about real estate is in here. He wasn't one of the main people...just a client. He's short and I can tell he wishes someone would recognize him. Well, someone does but that someone would never inflate his ego.
BH is wearing on me. I've been here for work more than normal. It's kind of a really annoying area in Los Angeles if you spend too much time here. Sometimes, for fun, I like to look like I'm a bag lady when I am in the area...scares people. And by bag lady...I mean I don't wear high heels and I carry a tote...that is a BH bag lady.
I'm going home for Thanksgiving...yum! And then we are going to Florida for Christmas. Yay! And then I will work on my retirement plans...

Day 330 - And Here We Are
Yes, I have been gone a long time.
Melvin had a virus that kept him ill for a week. He just returned tonight better than ever. I feel like I've been checked out of the world this whole time because I've only been online when absolutely necessary.
So, let's catch up!
I had my 27th birthday. It was lovely. I spent the weekend with the Brit as he took me to a birthday dinner of sushi and then to a music night at Hotel Cafe.
Legal Eagle and her boyfriend came up the next weekend and we went to an old Hollywood restaurant where we sat in Charlie Chaplin's booth.
I got tons of awesome gifts from everyone. And now I have a new camera so I can post pictures again! I took my first official picture...it was of Barbar.
Things are good, work is crazy. I'm way behind, but will have time to crank out tons of work.
My dad will be visiting next week for the first time since I've lived in Hollywood. I'm so excited to show him around and for him to meet the Brit. Uh oh!!
I will write more and get back to this, but for now, I am hungry.

Day 329 - Birthday Schmirthday
My birthday is coming up.
I will be 27.
I am not a fan of my birthday...not because of the getting older thing, I actually don't mind that part.
I don't like being expected to have SO MUCH FUN on my birthday.
There's so much pressure involved to enjoy it where I'd rather spend the day under the blankets ordering takeout.
Now, to organize my takeout menus....

Day 328 - Double Napkins, Future Selves And Rooster Feathers
About a week ago I was on my way back from New York!
Middle sister's surprise 30th birthday trip was to the Big Apple and was so much fun.
We did so much on the trip and wore our little feet out!
But, more importantly, here is a list of some of the good things we ate:
Macaroni and cheese egg rolls
Chicken and waffle sliders
Deep fried Oreos
Slices of pizza
NY hot dogs
Calzones
Bagels and cream cheese
Burgers: regular and salmon
Onion rings
Sweet potato fries
The most delicious blue cheese, mushroom, caramelized onion burger
Cupcakes galore: margarita, jelly donut, turtle, peppermint, orange and funfetti
Gnocchi, fettucine alfredo, tortellini, rigatoni
Oh, and a weirdo, healthy breakfast of yogurt and berries with a chocolate pastry for me...eggs and fruit for the sisters
We went all over NY, to Central Park, Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, Upper West Side, Bryant Park and more!
There are so many fun stories and memories. I even got pooped on by a bird right before we left. How awesome.
We went to the Today show and saw Blake Shelton perform Honeybee and a girl with special yellow eyeshadow and more.
Mostly, we got herded all around NY and found out that there are lots of rules in the city. Ha!
We bought up pashminas galore and saw people trying to sell faux Tiffany bracelets and designer bags.
The weather was flip floppy, but we were all troopers.
Went to a couple comedy shows and found out when you search for dragon images, you should search "dragons" not "dragon."
Basically, we just laughed a lot. Seriously, I almost forgot how funny my sisters are. My stomach muscles hurt the whole time from all the laughs. Awesome.
