Day 328 - Double Napkins, Future Selves And Rooster Feathers

About a week ago I was on my way back from New York!

Middle sister's surprise 30th birthday trip was to the Big Apple and was so much fun.

We did so much on the trip and wore our little feet out!

But, more importantly, here is a list of some of the good things we ate:

Macaroni and cheese egg rolls
Chicken and waffle sliders
Deep fried Oreos
Slices of pizza
NY hot dogs
Calzones
Bagels and cream cheese
Burgers: regular and salmon
Onion rings
Sweet potato fries
The most delicious blue cheese, mushroom, caramelized onion burger
Cupcakes galore: margarita, jelly donut, turtle, peppermint, orange and funfetti
Gnocchi, fettucine alfredo, tortellini, rigatoni
Oh, and a weirdo, healthy breakfast of yogurt and berries with a chocolate pastry for me...eggs and fruit for the sisters

We went all over NY, to Central Park, Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, Upper West Side, Bryant Park and more!

There are so many fun stories and memories. I even got pooped on by a bird right before we left. How awesome.

We went to the Today show and saw Blake Shelton perform Honeybee and a girl with special yellow eyeshadow and more.

Mostly, we got herded all around NY and found out that there are lots of rules in the city. Ha!

We bought up pashminas galore and saw people trying to sell faux Tiffany bracelets and designer bags.

The weather was flip floppy, but we were all troopers.

Went to a couple comedy shows and found out when you search for dragon images, you should search "dragons" not "dragon."

Basically, we just laughed a lot. Seriously, I almost forgot how funny my sisters are. My stomach muscles hurt the whole time from all the laughs. Awesome.

Day 327 - This Time Next Week...

...I will be in a top secret location for middle sister's 30th birthday extravaganza!

Oldest sister and I have been in full-on planning mode to squeeze in everything we want to do.

I am so freaking excited it is making it really hard to get work done. I can't wait to finally pack next week.

Meanwhile, Barbar is in full-on sleep mode.

Day 326 - Oh, Hello

Just checking in like the lazy person I am.

All is well in the land of Hollywood.

Barbar is out of control since he turned 4 this weekend. Thinks he should be allowed out whenever he wants. Such a teenager!

Legal Eagle is coming up this Sunday. We are going to try to see a movie so that will be lots of fun. Haven't seen her since her graduation extravaganza...whoa, that was a long time ago.

Middle sister's birthday trip is coming up so soon! Time is flying by! I'm so excited for it.

The Brit and I are doing well. I think he's stressed about money for various reasons, but I hope it gets easier. He does have a very exciting possible project coming up which would be so great for him.

Work is OK. I'm going to possibly start taking on some more new stuff and try some different things with the site I work for. Could be good to change it up and hopefully it helps. We'll see.

All in all, I'm doing well. I have to get my wisdom teeth out though because I notice them growing in more. Sucky.

Day 262 cont. - The Day Neighbor And I Finally Hung Out

Sooooo...Neighbor and I finally got together. I went over to his place Thursday night to see his kitten and catch up. We ended up hanging out from 10:00pm-1:30am. Yikes!

But, onto things.

We did a brief catch up when I got there and I played with the kitten. And then he began talking about his 19-year-old "stalker."

They've kind of, sort of dated. But not really. I'm not sure I get it even now. But he said they've hung out like all the time. He claims its because she just drops by and that it's weird when she does because she barely talks to him and nothing physical goes on, although they have made out early on in their "relationship." But he did call her cute and I'll admit, when he first said all this, it stung. But in a "you're an ass" way, not a "why not me?" way.

So he told me all about her and she either has a mental imbalance or is a pathological liar. She's screwed up in some way. And I think he thinks he can help or save her in some way. And I think he likes the drama. Every girl he's stuck around for has been drama.

He claims he wants to get her out of the picture, but he isn't exactly doing what he should to make that happen. Note: he leaves his door unlocked and sometimes she'll just go in even when he isn't home. Something about this is fucked up.

Also, she called him when we were hanging out. He didn't get it on time the first time she called, but then she definitely called back five seconds later. We agreed he would answer and, of course, he told her we were hanging out. Apparently she said, "Oh, OK." So I told him to not tell her where I live.

Moving on, he asked me about work and then asked if I was seeing anyone. I mentioned the Brit.

He then asked a bunch of questions about him. Name, job, where he lives, etc. I won't deny that it felt pretty great telling him about the Brit and how normal and good everything was. He teased me a bit -- a lot -- about him.

It was interesting talking to him about another guy. It was a different kind of conversation than I would have to Legal Eagle or one of my sisters. I don't know how to describe it.

But we caught up a lot and then I headed home. We hugged when I left and agreed to get together soon.

I don't know how he feels about things. I spent a lot of the time trying to figure out why I was so gaga over him. But he brought up dating someone else first, so I assume a guy who likes you wouldn't do that. I hope that he just wants to be friends because that's where I'm at and I think we could be great friends. Plus, I've never had a close guy friend. And maybe I can help him stay away from nutter butter girls.

I'll keep you updated as I try to figure this out.

Day 259 - I Should Be Working

But, first I want to tell you about my date with the Brit.

When it first ended I was sooooo bummed, but then after heading home and discussing the reasons I was bummed with Legal Eagle, she was able to talk me out of my insanity and helped me realize that all the reasons I was bummed weren't really problems.

I'll just quickly list the problems:

-The date was short, well, a couple of hours. We just went hiking and then hung out on a park bench and talked. That was really all that was planned, but I had thought how nice it would have been if we grabbed dinner or something. I can't hold this against him since he can't read my mind yet.

-He didn't make out with me in public. We went our separate ways on a busy street where people were definitely out watering their gardens and playing with children, so I suppose it could have been a little inappropriate.

-He didn't set the next date. LE told me how this drove her crazy about Double B, but isn't anything to be bothered over.

-He's considering heading home (out-of-state) for a bit before this other job that he might be able to line up would start in mid-Sept. At home, he has a friend with a bar that he could play at and another bar that would offer him a couple of nights. He wouldn't permanently be gone. And I'm not sure how seriously he's considering it, but he mentioned it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of this is nothing. We did talk more about jobs though.

He's still looking and I think it's bothering him a lot. I told him about a lot of the job stuff I've been through, so at least I think he knows that I get it.

But I also think it's a tricky situation because dating while you're not job-happy can be difficult. We'll see.

So, after the date he texted me just a "had fun, blah blah" thing. I felt better about everything after that. We texted for a bit and he emailed me this horrible music video he had told me about that one of his roommates edited. (The editing wasn't bad, everything else was.)

Side note: I was able to use his email address to find him on Facebook and figure out his last name! It's a perfectly acceptable last name. Unfortunately his picture is not of him so I can't send the page to my sisters to see him. And no, I can't and don't want to add him yet. But, his page is hyper-private (like I keep mine) so that's good.

Then this morning I saw an email that was sent after I went to bed that was about something we were joking about but he also attached something he had written and sung. And I liked it! I'm always worried (when dating someone who does something creative) that I'll hate what they actually do.

Oh, and last night as we texted he asked me out for tonight. We might grab a drink or watch a movie. I said I was up for whatever and that we'd figure it out today since I was headed to bed.

Hmm...so, I'm still having fun with him. He's always nice, funny, talkative and still has such good teeth!

OK, now I really do have to work!

Day 239 - I Guess That Means I'm Hitting The Wall?

I feel like I've been waking up on the wrong side of the bed all week.

Well, Monday was actually a rough day, for legitimate reasons. Or rather, one reason.

Other than that, the week hasn't necessarily been bad. Work stuff is moving along. I pitched a new piece on Tuesday to a place I haven't worked with and so hope to hear something. I know editors take forever to respond, but waiting is the worst! I've even transcribed some stuff that I've been meaning to do but haven't been motivated to do.

Things with Neighbor are weird and blank, so maybe that's part of it, but really, I've kind of gotten myself on board with nothing happening with him.

Mostly, I just shouldn't be allowed in public or around other people this week. I really feel like being in bed, hiding under the sheets.

I was short on the phone with middle sister yesterday, felt horrible about it, and called her back later to apologize.

I suspect my poor eating this week has at least a little part in my mood. I really need to fix that.

Thankfully, it's Thursday and I don't have much to do this weekend. Maybe hit up Bed, Bath & Beyond to check out comforters and pillows. Maybe even check out the new Trader Joe's....or will that make me more mad? I hate their tiny aisles and chatty staff.

We'll catch up again soon, Blog, when I'm in a better mood.

Day 197 cont. - Skype!

"are we talking?"

^What I wrote to middle sister right before we Skyped. Always a sign of brilliance when you are talking to someone and you ask if you are talking to them. :)

Day 192 - Life Update

I have tons of work to do this week and other stuff going on, but I want to take some time to catch up because lots has been going on. I've missed you, blog.

Middle sister came to visit last week. It was nice to have family out here. Mostly we wandered around Hollywood, ate, drank and caught up on randomness. The weather was perfect. All in all, a good time and many silly laughs.

Work has been work. I need to catch up on some stuff so I can start spending more time on things that I want to write.

And on to Neighbor stuff...really my life is pretty much the same other than these developments.

Yes, he did make a move. And yes, he responded to my email invite to a comedy show on Saturday night. He told me he might have to do some work on this movie trailer depending on how some meeting went. He ended up having to work, but we met up after the comedy show.

Things are fun with him. It's hard recapping every night we hang out, so I'm just going to type out random things and convos from the last two Saturdays.

-------------------------------------------------------

Neighbor rented Harold & Maude last Saturday. Very thoughtful as I had told him about it the previous weekend.

-------------------------------------------------------

Remember how I said I hate when people ask me what it is exactly I want to do? Well, he asked me again, but this time with the kind of response I want.

Neighbor: So, what kind of stuff do you want to do, sort of long-term?

Me: (heavy sigh) Well, it's hard to explain. I know what I want to do, but I don't know how I'd classify it. Not hard journalism, but not this entertainment stuff.

Neighbor: I understand. It's kind of like someone asking me what I want to do. (Note: I've asked this before.)

-------------------------------------------------------

So, after he made a move I felt the need to clarify with him that I wasn't just going to be some neighbor he could randomly see and make out with. Then this Saturday I felt the need to mention this again as he had not asked me on a date. Here's how that went:

Me: I know we already talked about this, but I'm not some hook up or just hang out whenever girl.

Neighbor: I know, I understand. And I'm not that kind of guy.

Me: OK, well, (long pause) I just really want you to ask me on a date.

Neighbor: What? Oh, yeah?

Me: Yeah. Just hanging out at night at your place is fun and all, but I'd like to hang out outside your apartment.

Neighbor: I guess the last people I've dated we didn't really do the asking out thing.

Me: Well, I'd like to. I've been waiting all week.

Neighbor: Maybe I was just waiting to ask.

Me: How long were you going to wait??

Neighbor: OK, we'll go on a date. Done.

-------------------------------------------------------

Then before I left, he thought out loud about our future date (No, he hasn't asked me, yet. What's with that??), but here is what he said. Note: I think he was really tired because it's pretty random.

Neighbor: We'll do something French. I'll take you to the aquarium or an art museum. Yeah, we'll go to a gallery show. Or we'll go to the Bat Caves (a thing in our neighborhood where the original Batman cave was shot). No, that's not very date-y.

Me: What?

Neighbor: It'll be something good.

Note: I don't think there is an aquarium in L.A., just in Long Beach.

-------------------------------------------------------

At some point we ate Cracker Jacks:

Me: Oooh, the prize! Don't look. Do you have a pencil? (The prize was this piece of paper with part of a pencil drawn on it and two people climbing up it, making it look like they were climbing your pencil.)

Neighbor: Will a pen work?

Me: Uh, sure, but it won't be nearly as good....OK, check it out!

Neighbor: Ahh, if I were 8 again I would totally think this rocked. Although, the color of the pencil is kind of off.

Me: Yeah, let's open the other box and see what the prize is! (There were two boxes)

Neighbor: Why don't we wait to see if we eat all of these first?

Note: We ate them all and then got to the second box. The prize was a picture of Alexander Hamilton from a young guy to an old guy. Neighbor made me guess who it was; I never got it right.

-------------------------------------------------------

He showed me the movie trailer he's working on:

Me: So, what did you do with it? What part of it?

Neighbor: What do you mean?

Me: Well, like, you know...what stuff...well...I don't really understand what it is you do.

He explained what he did and apparently he created the whole movie trailer. He watched the movie and made a trailer. So weird. But it was awesome. It was like a real trailer!

-------------------------------------------------------

We have a lot of fun together, and I'm way comfortable with him. Things are moving forward which I'm happy about. He did touch on the "neighbor" thing, but we didn't really get into the good and bad about it. I think it might be something we should talk about at some point, but I don't know.

Also, while I'll keep his name private on here, I think it's time I start referring to him by name when I talk to others. Seriously.

I'll write some more later, but I really do have to continue doing some work. My life is totally thrilling.

Day 190 - Updates To Come

I swear! I have updates, but I have an insane amount of work to do and my middle sister is coming to visit tonight!!

At the latest, I will blog this weekend. I know! So late!

Thanks for understanding.

Day 163 cont. - Some Christmas Pictures

I've been meaning to post some holiday pictures. Here you go!

^Cookbook for the best pancakes ever!

^I really like this picture. Now stop smiling and get back to cooking my pancakes!

^What? The walls are blue?

^A man and his scotch.

^Two yokels who kept thinking the flash on the camera was too bright.

^Awww...now stop complaining because this picture is cute.

^Only took a few shots to get this right.

^OK, best one where we look equally as good, because we are laughing, I think mom said.

^Best one of my sisters and me!!

^Couldn't ask for better parents!!!!

Day 163 - What? It's Monday?

Last night Legal Eagle and I were thoroughly confused as to how we missed the whole weekend.

Saturday I cleaned ALL DAY! OK, sure there were some TV breaks during this time, but I cleaned our kitchen, living room and bathroom. Also, cleaned off my desk and got rid of tons of junk mail and random papers. Now the challenge is keeping everything clean...

Then Saturday night I ended up hanging out with our neighbor and a friend of his. LE ended up at a BBQ that ran into the night, so since we had been trying to hang out with neighbor forever, I decided to pop by.

And...it was fun!

We all mostly just hung out, watched TV and talked. Oh, and we watched some episodes of Strangers with Candy. Yes, neighbor totally has some very good TV DVDs. He even has one season of Three's Company. (After I told LE this, she asked, "When you saw it, were you like, 'swoon'?")

Neighbor's friend was cool and very funny. LE and I have met him in passing before and he has some friends who do stunt stuff for movies I think and I actually gave him my business card because he's looking to get them some press.

Of course, I was totally worried about "Oh, will they like hanging out with me or think I'm totally lame???" but never fear, I easily won them over. (As if I have to try.) How, you ask?

Well, as neighbor does film and video editing, the topic of movies came up. When asked what kind of movies I am into, I responded as such:

Me: Well, really I like scary movies.

Neighbor: Really?

(What? I don't look like a girl who would be into scary movies? Is it the heels or the flower, fluffy, party dresses?)

Me: Yeah, but more like the stuff from the '70s and '80s. My sisters and I used to watch them all the time when we were young.

Neighbor: Seriously?

Me: Yeah.

Neighbor: What's your favorite one?

Me: Well, it's not a very popular one, but my all-time favorite would be Graduation Day.

Neighbor: Are you serious? So that's the one you watch a lot?

Me: Yeah, my sister bought it for me a long time ago on old school VHS. The case is all broken down, but it's so good.

Neighbor: I just recently got Graduation Day on DVD.

Me: Shut up!

Neighbor: Yeah, I don't think I've ever known anyone who knew that movie.

Me: Me either.

Thank god for my awesome taste in movies. We then talked about all the old movies and I raided some of the ones he has which include a variety of camp horror movies (Yay!) and high school horror movies (Double yay!). Only difference is he can remember titles to movies, whereas I have to describe the whole plot and hope that he can figure out which one I am talking about. And that can be very difficult with '70s and '80s horror movies as they all take place at a sorority house or camp or high school or slumber party. And he mentioned the New Beverly Cinema which plays old movies, even once Graduation Day, and it sounds pretty cool.

Oh, and neighbor is moving next door (not right next to us as he is already right next to us, but in the building next to us). It is mine and LE's dream building. It looks Bavarian or German? But, as we were talking about the movie Paranormal Activity, neighbor told me how he's hoping his new place is haunted as it's much older than other places here. And, tons of Hollywood people have lived around here and in OUR building that I didn't even know about. Anyway, I told neighbor we should do a Ouija board session at his new place. I had to explain I don't have one because LE is not crazy about the idea. He isn't crazy about the idea either. Why does no one want to Ouija board with me???

But I think I might be able to talk him into it. He said he'd prefer to think that there was a ghost hanging out in the corner near the bathroom rather than sitting next to him at the Ouija board. But I assured him that it would be safe because we'd get crystals and light a white candle and take all the precautions, to which he replied:

"I want to meet your crystal supplier first."

But when I told LE I want to Ouija board his new place, I think she was kind of on board with this! With both of us working at it, I KNOW we can convince him!

Moving on...I think he really wants me and LE to bring our cats by. OK, not "think," more like "know." I think LE told me that his family had a cat and he always loves to see ours. So, since LE also wants to make some time to hang out with neighbor, I think we will be bringing our cats by very soon, maybe this week?

All in all, it was a fun time. Oh! And he knows a lot more about all this random stuff in our area, so LE and I are going to start searching for the Garden of Oz. It is apparently in Beachwood Canyon (our area) and is locked to everyone except those who have keys, but you can see the garden through the gate. Neighbor hasn't found it, yet.

But of course, anytime you tell anyone that you hung out with a guy there are the inevitable questions.

I told my middle sister about hanging out there and she asked, "Is he cute? You should date him."

Then when I told LE about hanging out with him, she asked, "So would you say he is datable? Were there sparks? We could double-date!"

You want answers to all this? Well, that'll be the next blog. Or the one after that.

As for Sunday, I slept late as I stayed up past my bedtime on Saturday. Then I went for a nice walk to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for a chai and some breakfast. Then I returned home to try to clean my room. I did an OK job, but did not go through my closet or makeup or reorganize anything. I did pick up the floor and my shoes and clothes are all in place. I then took an afternoon nap in the sun. Nice! Managed to hit the grocery store and chill out with LE while we talked about things we should be doing. Instead we played with the cats and caught up. Oh, and we watched some awesome TV as always.

Day 115 - Happy Birthday To Meeeeeeeeeeee!

It's my 25th birthday this Friday the 31st of July!!!!

Legal Eagle and I are going to San Francisco and Fort Bragg/Mendocino. My middle sister is coming to Los Angeles with a friend and then we are all heading up there to meet my oldest sister.

It's very exciting to get to spend my 25th back in the SF area. It feels very fitting to me and I'm so freaking happy to get away.

But I was thinking...if I could spend my birthday any other way it would be watching a marathon of What I Like About You with my mom while my dad would makes drinks and snacks and chime in, "Ah, I think I've seen this one."

On another note: I know I've been horrible about updating, but I promise to get back into once I return and to also finally do a wedding post! Yikes, so behind!

Until then...I will be celebrating my birthday week and pretty much MIA.

Day 113 - My Starbucks' Issue

Back in December my middle sister took me out to Starbucks and after she paid, I said, "Tip them."

The rest of my trip home we told everyone how I tipped Starbucks with her money. (Don't worry, she isn't stingy. The Starbucks we went to had mean people there who never tipped at my sister's salon.)

So then today Legal Eagle and I went to Starbucks since we are in Orange County today. I have a couple of her random dollars in my wallet because she doesn't carry a wallet.

After we order, I tipped the woman a dollar. Convo goes:

LE: Did you just tip my dollar?

Me: Yeah.

LE: You so only did it because she said your dress was cute.

Me: Yeah.

(Sidenote: The server said my dress was cute and it is. Actually both of our dresses are super cute.)

So now I've discovered that I tip other people's money while at Starbucks. This is weird.

Day 107 - Exactly

Legal Eagle bought us some fudge at a recent bake sale in town. We finished it off yesterday and here is how things went down:

LE cutting the fudge up and separating it.

Me: Are you sanctioning the fudge?

LE: Yeah, we're like Anne Frank....................You can quote me on that!

Me: (bursts out laughing)

A few minutes pass.

Me: I just realized I said sanctioning when I meant rationing.

LE: It's OK. I clearly knew what you meant.

^I love Jersey. Here is a pic from it when my sisters and I got lost there while in Philly.

Day 100 - I'm 100 Today!

So I thought and I thought about what I would make my 100th blog be about. I really wanted it to be some huge announcement like, "I'm getting married," or, "I dyed my hair pink!" But alas it will not be, it will simply be an update on my WILAY goals. Enjoy. And eat a cupcake for my 100th birthday.

1. Apartment - Well, I live in Hollywood, so yay! I still have a lot of decorating that I want to do, but do not have the moola. But I live in a much better area and absolutely love our place. Score!

2. Hair and makeup - I can't believe I made one of my "change" requirements hair and makeup. That is making me die laughing right now. So, I love my bangs and take the time to fix them in the morning and not just clip them back. Also, I just got a bunch of makeup from a $1 sale and I love it. Makeup fun can begin. Will post pic of me with false eyelashes.

3. Clothes
- Ah, the shallowness continues. Haven't really been buying clothes, but I have been putting more thought into outfits and wearing things differently (no, not wearing shirts as pants). But I just put more effort into it and have some stuff I really love. Success.

4. Job - Ugh. Can we skip this one? The only good thing going on now is that I feel like writing again and am working on some random stuff to pitch. Also still looking for a job. Job, job, job (song in my head everyday).

5. Money - Oh hell, no money here. But I am going to write down all my debts and finances and expenses and I have a budget and I am going to find ways to make money. Suckville.

6. Organization - I really need to print out all my clips. I also need to go through all my papers and toss stuff. Maybe this weekend??

7. Zany situations - This is still going strong. Mostly because my cat is really weird. As is my roommate.

8. Boys - Still single here! Kind of hard to get a boyfriend when you can't afford to go out. But...I do have a new schoolgirl crush on the host at this cafe Birds near our place. Haven't had a crush in forever!

9. A "hang-out" place - OK, can't afford to hang somewhere all the time, but I love out little neighborhood bars/restaurants and think they will be very nice once money comes my way. Outlook positive.

Soooo...some things are going quite well, but the important ones like job and money are very stressful right now. Fingers crossed that they work out, especially since Mercury is out of the way (thanks mom!). Also, I need to start posting some online convos with my oldest sister. They are brillant.

^My sisters and I over Xmas last year!!

Day 99 - Another Chapter Comes To A Close...

Right before Day 100 of this blog I have an announcement:

My faux boyfriend and I broke up.

Haha!

Well, so for Bride Brain's wedding I made up this boyfriend who was sooo great. But now the wedding is like a month away and this boyfriend has not shown up.

And since I'm so bad at lying my middle sister told me I should just end things. So this morning Legal Eagle sent BB an email about the wedding and included that I broke up with my boyfriend.

Here's what happened:

Just recently, this was all very short notice, he got his dream job offer -- on the East Coast! I know, tragic. So I knew it was what he wanted so I was all supportive...awww.

So he just left for it this last week and I'm all sad. Boo hoo. We decided not to do the long distance thing, that it was just best for us. And while it's been a rough week for me, as LE noted, I am looking forward to LE's bday and think that will help get me out of my funk.

Now here is the weird part. When LE was writing it and we were talking about it, there was a moment when we were like, "Aw, this is sad." So, even fake break-ups are sad.

Please excuse me while I mourn the end of my faux relationship.

Day 88 - The Obligatory Sister Blog

So my middle sister wrote a blog about creating a dating show for herself and what the challenges would be. I laughed soooo hard...and now I am going to copy it.

Here is what my challenges would be:

- Cutting onions without crying

- Spend the night alone with Barbar without flinging him out the window

- Who can play fetch the longest with Barbar

- Sit through a marathon of any of P Diddy's shows (If you can survive watching his shows, you can survive any of the shows I obsessively watch because they are way better)

- Who can manage to keep my fridge stocked with Blue Moon, Ketel One and white wine (Wow, is this what an alcoholic sounds like?)

- And in summer, who can keep my fridge stocked with popsicles, fudge bars, dreamsicles, Klondike bars (Wow, is this what an ice cream-holic sounds like?)

- Who can kill the most bugs without making a mess of it or breaking anything

Also:
my oldest sister sent me an especially awesome Easter card that I have been meaning to post.

^It's Pat the Bunny...I loved this book!

^And she topped it off by saying I am a bunny who was adopted from a bunny octo-mom. She goes on and then writes that this is all just getting weird. It was the perfect message!

I think you know you are related to people when you have the exact same sense of humor like my sisters and I do (and my parents). You also know when you all watch the same bad TV (my parents watch Rock of Love...pretty sure they are the only parents who do).

^It was 100 degrees in Hollywood yesterday, so the cats chilled on the bathroom floor. Poor babes!

Day 63 - Home Offices!

Yes, I have been working from home for a while now, but now Legal Eagle is here too!

We spent all weekend transforming our dining room area into an office and I love it. There are still some things to clean up and I will post pictures when we are done, but it totally looks like an office.

Plus, we are so WILAY right now. (And LE’s office phone has this weird alien ring to it).

Convo with Middle Sister about the offices:

Middle Sister: Just don’t put your desks facing each other.

Me: No, they’re facing the TV.

Middle Sister: You’re not going to get any work done.

But, I have managed to work today!

The cats love the office, although Barbar thinks it means we are available to play all day (well, I am, but don’t tell anyone).

I have some major Bride Brain wedding updates, but those will come in another post. I’m excited to get my 2 sizes too big dress in the next couple of months.

Middle Sister is Facebook obsessed. Yikes! Her dog Martini has a page. I am friends with him. Wow, this is a sign that I really need to get back to work. More later gators!!!

Day 61 - It's Been Far Too Long!

I’m baaack!

I don’t even know where to begin.

Well, I’ll start with something that is becoming very WILAY: I am working at home currently (and about to get paid!) and LE is going to start working from home too! We’re going to have coffee breaks even…yay!

And we’re going to move our desks into the dining room/kitchen-y area, so that it is more work-y (as opposed to having my desk by my bed where I am often tempted to just roll from my chair to my bed to nap).

I went home to Chicago for Christmas and had a blast. It was cold and icy, but Martini welcomed me with open arms. He was really great. Oh and I went to this lounge where the vodka tonics were $9! Insane!

New Years was also lovely. We hadn’t planned to do anything and then went out with a group and had such a good tme.

It’s so very chilly here and I’m ready for beach weather to be back. Also, haven’t heard from Bride Brain in a while. Maybe it’s time to send her an email?

I so had something I was going to write, but now it is completely forgotten.

Oh, I heard from The Doc during my flight back to California (while in Vegas where I was stuck for four hours after just barely making my Chicago flight out). Pretty random. We’ll see.

On a sad note: Jennifer Love Hewitt and her fiance have broken up. I was really hoping she had really found The One this time. No, I’m not being sarcastic. Poor girl.

More later!

Oh, I remembered. I was going to write about Ageless Dan. Ahh…went to my mom’s work Xmas party. Met Ageless Dan, who barely said hi to me, but immediately asked, “Where’s (middle sister)?”

Note: Middle sister used to work at my mom’s place so she knows people there.

OK, so that’s fine, but then my mom told me how he always asks about her. So, we concluded that he loves her or something and teased her all week about it.

Then, when my mom got back to work, she informed me that that day he asked about me and called me a cutie and said she could give me his number! And she didn’t even think he was joking!

Well, I was confused by this, so I have now concluded that it doesn’t matter which of me or my sisters he dates, he is really after having my mom as his mother-in-law. Weird, but she does make good cookies!

Day 39 - Oh, That's Right...

My middle sister asked me a couple of days ago what I blogged about (she is even more technologically reluctant than me at times, so I don’t hold it against her for not reading this everyday or for not emailing).

All I answered was, anything. You know, conversations that are funny and whatnot. And then after further discussion I realized that my blog did have a premise!

How could I have been so forgetful. This is all about What I Like About You-ifying my life!!!!

So I think it is high time for some updates.

Well, I’m still as adorable as ever. So that is going great!

As far as career and stuff, I want to believe it is going in a good direction. I’m busy and working a lot. And while much of it is still “pro-bono,” In Style has picked up and I am getting a fair amount of work there.

Oh and with the addition of my super cute desk and chair, my room and stuff is getting a little better than it was. Still want to move to Long Beach though, but alas the money thing hasn’t quite taken off.

And then there are guys, or lack thereof. Unfortunately Legal Eagle and I have been consumed with a number of things and haven’t had much time to just go out for a simple night. But I’d rather do that in Long Beach too.

Hmm...ah yes, organization. I was going to try to get super organized. It is going in the right direction. But I do need to get my print-outs of clips organized. However, my files are going quite well.

One that I have completely passed over was wanting a “hang-out” place. This is rather difficult. Well, there isn’t much here and part of me would hate to find somewhere I absolutely loved only to move to Long Beach. So until the hopefully sooner rather than later move, Starbucks is good.

Zany situations is going awesome! It’s pretty standard that something odd happens around here every now and then.

What I need is to be really computer-saavy and figure out how to make an awesome WILAY chart or graph and be able to track my progress. Although this may be taking things too far.
