Day 99 cont. - Circus Party!

Legal Eagle and I went to the circus this weekend. Well, actually there was a show put on at the Santa Monica Pier. It was awesome. Here are some highlights!

^It was really overcast. I know, overcast in California? It does happen from time to time.

^Guy juggling knives on a unicycle. We were worried.

^The best! The master hula hooper! He was our favorite. So great and his facial expressions were so cute and funny. I want to join the circus and do what he does.

^Of course I got a picture of her while she is laying down and not hanging in the air. Good thing I'm not a professional photographer.

^Some people on stilts. There were sooo many and all of them looked sooo cool. Great picture except for the big head in it. Yeesh!

^Oh, this is just a kitty butt shot. They're looking for birds. So adorable!

Day 99 - Another Chapter Comes To A Close...

Right before Day 100 of this blog I have an announcement:

My faux boyfriend and I broke up.

Haha!

Well, so for Bride Brain's wedding I made up this boyfriend who was sooo great. But now the wedding is like a month away and this boyfriend has not shown up.

And since I'm so bad at lying my middle sister told me I should just end things. So this morning Legal Eagle sent BB an email about the wedding and included that I broke up with my boyfriend.

Here's what happened:

Just recently, this was all very short notice, he got his dream job offer -- on the East Coast! I know, tragic. So I knew it was what he wanted so I was all supportive...awww.

So he just left for it this last week and I'm all sad. Boo hoo. We decided not to do the long distance thing, that it was just best for us. And while it's been a rough week for me, as LE noted, I am looking forward to LE's bday and think that will help get me out of my funk.

Now here is the weird part. When LE was writing it and we were talking about it, there was a moment when we were like, "Aw, this is sad." So, even fake break-ups are sad.

Please excuse me while I mourn the end of my faux relationship.

Day 98 - Ahhh....

Legal Eagle: Oh no, I dropped a piece of broccoli!

Me: Save it!

LE: Too late. It's gone.

Me: I will hold a funeral for it tomorrow.

The other night I went to LE's school with her and beforehand we hung out at a coffee shop. There I saw a teenage girl come in with her father and I swear they looked like they had been playing tennis. And then I saw a young girl come in with her father and I swear they looked like they had been playing soccer. It was like my life before my eyes.

Also at this coffee shop, this happened:

LE and I go to sit on some comfy chairs.

LE: Why is there a bowl of water here?

Me: Maybe someone had a dog here and was giving them a drink?

Lady nearby: Oh, some guy had a turtle there, so there may be a mess. You might not want to sit there.

LE and I look quizzically at each other.

Me: Let's go sit somewhere else.

Who brings a turtle to a coffee shop and then sets him up with a bowl of water?? Or was this lady just trying to get us to sit further away from her??

Day 97 -BLUE!!

^This is me in my bridesmaid dress.

OK, I know I look quite good in it as I do just about everything, but I hate it. It's bright blue, strapless and I look like I'm going to prom. Good thing I can make anything look good.

Oh, and yes the size that I was sure was too big fit. Although I do have to cinch up the corset like crazy. I stand by my thought that I could have gone with a smaller size!!

Day 96 - I'm Funny

Me: I'm excited to see Angels & Demons.

Legal Eagle: Yeah.

Me: And even though I saw Da Vinci Code, I still hate the book even though I liked the movie.

LE: Yeah, the more I hang out with you the more I hate the book too. It's contagious.

Me: There are a lot of things that are contagious about me.

LE: Sometimes the things you say...

Day 95 - Well In That Case...

There are many postings for writing jobs and while they don't offer pay, they do offer by-lines.

How lucky! I can get credit for my work!

There is something wrong with this. But it made me wonder, why don't lawyers or doctors have to do the same?

Lawyer! Take on my case, no pay, but you get credit for the win!

Doctor! Do my surgery for free and get credit if it's a success!

Day 94 - It's Friday Night, You Know What That Means...

Another edition of the Sullisard Household on a Friday Night!

First, we just had a little earthquake...it was awesome.

Second, Legal Eagle and I took a walk and were in a new section of our town when we saw something sitting on a fence. It looked stuffed, but then an ear twitched and it looked right at us. And it was......a possum!

^I did not have my camera to take a picture, but this is pretty much what it looked like.

Needless to say, the second it moved, we took off running. That thing was freaky!

On another note: I got these cotton pads to remove my nail polish and I love them for one reason.

^Swisspers! I have no idea what Swisspers is supposed to imply, but it's the best name ever!

Also, of course the cats and I had a Friday night photo shoot.

^Barbar was made about this very unflattering shot. So he made me do it over because he claims to be very photogenic.

^He thinks he looks much younger in profile. I would agree.

^Schatzi doesn't like it when he has to wait for me to take pictures of Barbar. He gets all fidgety and tries to jump into the picture.

^You can see his kitty tongue! Schatzi looks younger in profiles too.

Well, there aren't any good/bad movies on TV like there usually are on Friday nights. Must find a way to fill the time. I may have to stoop to watching a bad/bad movie. Ugh.

Day 93 - Oh No, A Jean Dilemma

I've never been a fan of ripped jeans....but now....

^My favorite pair of perfectly worn-in jeans now has a little hole forming on the knee.

So I'm torn. Do I let the hole continue to grow and keep wearing the jeans and embrace the ripped up look?

Or do I trash them?

I think I'm going to embrace the ripped jean look as it seems to fit out here in California. Plus I really love these jeans. They fit well.

But I think I will tell people they got ripped when I was jumping a fence or something cool, not that they ripped because they are worn out from wearing them over and over during the time when I was moving up to Hollywood.

Day 92 - A Personal Journey Or Just Someone Else's Journey

Saturday Legal Eagle and I went up our main street to hike and along the way back home, we were stopped by tourists who asked where the Hollywood stairs were. We told them where one was that we had found, but then complained amongst ourselves about how finding the stairs is a personal journey and they should be found, not asked about.

Yesterday LE and I were bored, so she looked up where the stairs were and found a map that would lead us to 6 of them (I believe there are 7). We decided to go on a hike and see the stairs. We also documented this and I was going to post all the pictures, but realized that posting a million pictures of us by stairs will get a little repetitive (even for someone as vain as me). So here are some highlights.

^LE enjoying set number 2 of the stairs.

^Me enjoying set number 6 of the stairs.

^It sure is a long way up!

While LE and I made a big old deal about this being a personal journey, we decided that it is more about taking someone else's personal journey that they have mapped out and walking in their shoes. So much more profound! Also, other than the original stairs we found, the rest just look like stairs leading to people's houses, so we would never have suspected because we don't trespass on other people's property.

It was a good time though of course! And it was a hell of a workout and climbing a million stairs is always harder than I think it will be.

Also, where we went hiking on Saturday was awesome and gets us sooo close to the Hollywood sign and has crazy views. I'll have to bring my camera next time and get pictures. Now I really can't wait for people to visit so I can show them how close they can see the sign.

Day 91 - And Yet Another Exciting Friday Night At The Sullisard Household

The cats and I miss Legal Eagle terribly when she has class on Friday nights. But we find ways to fill our time.

^Barbar put on a skit and pretended to be Russian. This is one of his favorite things to do. It is very believable.

^Schatzi asked me to take an action shot of him. However, he didn't want to move, so this is a semi-action shot of him while laying down.

Me? What did I do while she was gone? I cleaned. I clean just about every Friday night. It is half nice because then we have a clean place all weekend and half lame because I am cleaning on a Friday night.

^Our livingroom couch and desks and yes, that is a hula hoop hanging on the wall.

^Our TV area and the cats play area.

^Our painted bar stools. We still need to find a cute fabric to recover them with.

^A close-up of our couch and the beautiful pillows we got with our gift cards.

I wonder what I will do on Friday nights when LE doesn't have class. I suppose pretty much the same until I start really making money. Good thing the cats are entertaining!
