Day 296 - A Fabulous Birthday Celebration

Last night the Brit and I celebrated his birthday and it was great.

First, we went to Geisha House for dinner. He was so excited when I told the parking lot attendant where we were going so we could park. Up until we got there, I kept the dinner locale secret. The Brit apparently loves sushi, phew.

I had read reviews and some people said it was too dark and too loud, but it was actually very nice. It was red lighting but also normal lighting so it wasn't too much. It wasn't loud at all, but we got there early, which I think is the way to go.

We got drinks that were delish! Seriously, I love lychee cocktails.

We also got some edamame and a couple rolls. Everything was really good. The two rolls were really different and he let me pick them both since I had read reviews of what was good.

The only problem there was the service was slow. This would not be a problem except we were on a time crunch. Also, the prices may have been higher than how good the sushi was, but it's very Hollywood, so you expect it.

We made it out on time and walked over to Santaland Diaries!

It was really good, again.

At first I was worried because the actor wasn't as good as the Chicago guy in the beginning, but once he got to the elf stuff and some of the more animated stuff, it was really great. The Brit really enjoyed it. Plus, the lady next to me fell asleep and then woke herself up with her snoring.

After that we decided to grab dessert and wine at Trader Joe's and watch a movie or TV. We then discovered that we both used to get chocolate oranges in our Christmas stockings so that was dessert for the night.

All in all, it was such a nice night. The Brit had a great time and said lots of sweet things about how sweet I am. I know. And now he has a sushi place that he wants to take me to when we're both back in town from Christmas. Plus he was really happy that the whole night was a surprise. He loves surprises which is a relief since I didn't really ask if he did. He just seemed really happy and that was the goal!

Also, I got to wear my $5 awesome H&M dress with black tights and heels and I looked so great! And the Brit was dressed up to which is always fun. He looked sharp and was a total gentleman.

Now I have to pack to move and pack for Christmas in Austin. So much to do. And all I want to do is sleep. Yikes.

Day 295 - Yes, Megan Fox, You Are The Next Angelina Jolie

When I saw Angelina Jolie in the first Tomb Raider film, I fell asleep (my whole family did).

When I saw the second Tom Raider, I fell asleep again.

When I watched Megan Fox in the first Transformers, I fell asleep.

When I saw the second one recently, I fell asleep again.

So yes, Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie have more in common than their looks.

Day 293 - About A Boy

Some Brit updates.

He just got some good music news and texted me about it. He's been in this music testing thing with a former boss that major stars do to see what songs are good. Apparently, his songs are getting great scores and the intent to buy is very high. Now the guy wants him to work on an album with one of his songs (he submitted three different styles). So now the Brit is in a great mood, which means he's even more fun. And I'm happy for him because I know he's constantly thinking/stressing about this stuff.

Also, his birthday is next week and I finally decided that I'm going to take him to Santaland Diaries. I told him I wanted to take him out to something and to dinner as well. I'm so excited because it should be as hilarious as it was in Chicago. And I think I'm going to take him to sushi at Geisha House in Hollywood. I don't actually know if he eats sushi, but he isn't at all picky about food and they have other stuff as well. But it'd be something we haven't done. And we can dress up!

Also, I have to go through some dental work in a few months and I was texting him about it after he asked about my day yesterday and he actually offered to go with me and make sure everything is OK. I was not expecting that because I told him it wasn't until February and I didn't say I needed to have anyone with me or anything. It was nice because he also said he'd watch Bret Michaels with me while I rested. He hates him. Ha.

It's Friday and I'm finally done with work! Now, to eat dinner and find a good movie on TV.

Day 292 - Painting Party? Packing Party? Moving Party?

Who wants to help me do a whole lot of stuff in the next month?

I'm moving!!

I'll be in the same neighborhood although closer to everywhere I go. I'll have my own little studio in a yellow building.

I'm very excited, but have so much to do.

I want to do some painting and want to take my time decorating so that everything is just how I want it.

My parent's new home has definitely inspired me because everything seems so perfectly, carefully done.

All in all, good stuff. I think the best part was hearing that all my references were saying such great things about me. It really made me happy to hear that I've done well for myself.

Everything else is also good as my mind is consumed with my new studio. Work is busy, but I'm getting things done.

Made fajitas with the Brit at my place last night and watched a movie. Now he at least knows how to make one more dish. It was a really good time though, especially when he did most of the dishes. Plus, it doesn't hurt that he has some good work stuff going on and is keeping busy which puts him in a good mood.

Now I just have to manage to move and get ready for Christmas in Austin! Yikes! So excited for Christmas, but can't believe it is only weeks away.

Better go do something!
