Day 93 - Oh No, A Jean Dilemma

I've never been a fan of ripped jeans....but now....

^My favorite pair of perfectly worn-in jeans now has a little hole forming on the knee.

So I'm torn. Do I let the hole continue to grow and keep wearing the jeans and embrace the ripped up look?

Or do I trash them?

I think I'm going to embrace the ripped jean look as it seems to fit out here in California. Plus I really love these jeans. They fit well.

But I think I will tell people they got ripped when I was jumping a fence or something cool, not that they ripped because they are worn out from wearing them over and over during the time when I was moving up to Hollywood.

Day 92 - A Personal Journey Or Just Someone Else's Journey

Saturday Legal Eagle and I went up our main street to hike and along the way back home, we were stopped by tourists who asked where the Hollywood stairs were. We told them where one was that we had found, but then complained amongst ourselves about how finding the stairs is a personal journey and they should be found, not asked about.

Yesterday LE and I were bored, so she looked up where the stairs were and found a map that would lead us to 6 of them (I believe there are 7). We decided to go on a hike and see the stairs. We also documented this and I was going to post all the pictures, but realized that posting a million pictures of us by stairs will get a little repetitive (even for someone as vain as me). So here are some highlights.

^LE enjoying set number 2 of the stairs.

^Me enjoying set number 6 of the stairs.

^It sure is a long way up!

While LE and I made a big old deal about this being a personal journey, we decided that it is more about taking someone else's personal journey that they have mapped out and walking in their shoes. So much more profound! Also, other than the original stairs we found, the rest just look like stairs leading to people's houses, so we would never have suspected because we don't trespass on other people's property.

It was a good time though of course! And it was a hell of a workout and climbing a million stairs is always harder than I think it will be.

Also, where we went hiking on Saturday was awesome and gets us sooo close to the Hollywood sign and has crazy views. I'll have to bring my camera next time and get pictures. Now I really can't wait for people to visit so I can show them how close they can see the sign.

Day 91 - And Yet Another Exciting Friday Night At The Sullisard Household

The cats and I miss Legal Eagle terribly when she has class on Friday nights. But we find ways to fill our time.

^Barbar put on a skit and pretended to be Russian. This is one of his favorite things to do. It is very believable.

^Schatzi asked me to take an action shot of him. However, he didn't want to move, so this is a semi-action shot of him while laying down.

Me? What did I do while she was gone? I cleaned. I clean just about every Friday night. It is half nice because then we have a clean place all weekend and half lame because I am cleaning on a Friday night.

^Our livingroom couch and desks and yes, that is a hula hoop hanging on the wall.

^Our TV area and the cats play area.

^Our painted bar stools. We still need to find a cute fabric to recover them with.

^A close-up of our couch and the beautiful pillows we got with our gift cards.

I wonder what I will do on Friday nights when LE doesn't have class. I suppose pretty much the same until I start really making money. Good thing the cats are entertaining!

Day 90 - The Obligatory Barbar and Schatzi Blog

I'm obsessed with mine and Legal Eagle's cats, so this is all about them.

Convo yesterday:

(Barbar comes running in quickly, sounding like a pony)

Me: Hey pony.

LE: Did you just call him Tony?

Me: No, pony because he sounded like one.

LE: Actually Tony fits him really well.

Now we call Barbar Tony, he enjoys it and I think he feels tougher.

^It's Tony!

Recently LE and I have been coming home to a very odd occurrence. One or both of the cats (we believe it to be Schatzi) has been bringing our bathtub plug out from the bathroom and into the livingroom. This has happened multiple times and only when we are gone and then it happened in the middle of the night last night as well. We have never seen them move it. It's a ghost...

UPDATE: Schatzi just came out of the bathroom carrying the bathtub plug...mystery solved.

Also, yesterday night LE and I were hanging out. She went into my room to see the cats or whatever. Barbar often hangs out in the window. This is what happened next:

LE: Barbar has friends.

Me: What are you talking about?

LE: He is in the window and I heard someone say "Hey there boy." So I thought they were talking to a dog or something and then I heard "What're you doing up there?" And then I heard them say "Hey kitty kitty."

Me: What?! Barbar has friends? I want to hear.

So we proceeded back to my room to listen in as Barbar entertained his friends, but we heard nothing. I am now completely suspicious of my cat. What, oh what, does he do when I am not home?

Day 89 - Into The Land Of The Lost

My phone is becoming janky. It's kind of falling apart (not because I dropped or threw it or anything). My previous phone did the same thing, both around the time when I can trade in and this phone is hitting that period.

This is exciting because now I feel no need to use my phone. I feel free.

Convo about phone with Legal Eagle:

Me: I can just replace my phone for free in like mid-May.

LE: That's still weeks away.

Me: I know. This is great.

I am going to enjoy the next few weeks soooo much.

Day 88 - The Obligatory Sister Blog

So my middle sister wrote a blog about creating a dating show for herself and what the challenges would be. I laughed soooo hard...and now I am going to copy it.

Here is what my challenges would be:

- Cutting onions without crying

- Spend the night alone with Barbar without flinging him out the window

- Who can play fetch the longest with Barbar

- Sit through a marathon of any of P Diddy's shows (If you can survive watching his shows, you can survive any of the shows I obsessively watch because they are way better)

- Who can manage to keep my fridge stocked with Blue Moon, Ketel One and white wine (Wow, is this what an alcoholic sounds like?)

- And in summer, who can keep my fridge stocked with popsicles, fudge bars, dreamsicles, Klondike bars (Wow, is this what an ice cream-holic sounds like?)

- Who can kill the most bugs without making a mess of it or breaking anything

Also:
my oldest sister sent me an especially awesome Easter card that I have been meaning to post.

^It's Pat the Bunny...I loved this book!

^And she topped it off by saying I am a bunny who was adopted from a bunny octo-mom. She goes on and then writes that this is all just getting weird. It was the perfect message!

I think you know you are related to people when you have the exact same sense of humor like my sisters and I do (and my parents). You also know when you all watch the same bad TV (my parents watch Rock of Love...pretty sure they are the only parents who do).

^It was 100 degrees in Hollywood yesterday, so the cats chilled on the bathroom floor. Poor babes!

Day 87 - A Flurry Of A Weekend

Phew...awesome weekend.

^Legal Eagle and I went hiking near Getty Center. This was like for real hiking, lots of plants and a skinny skinny trail.

Convo we had on our way hiking:

Me: This is hard.

LE: This is like true hiking.

Me: I don't like hiking.

^Some of the view of where we were hiking. It was kind of awesome scary.

^The whole time we were hiking, LE felt the need to point out snake holes (note: there were only 2). Every time she did, I screamed.

^Me hiding along the trail.

^Another crazy view.

So, we also went to the beach yesterday! First beach day of the year. Lovely weather here and overall it was great. Also, we were laying on the beach and there was a guy selling ice cream and I really wanted a fudge pop. He was selling to some other people first and LE was flagging him down. Right before he would be coming over to us, he was stopped by the beach patrol! They talked forever and then he was kicked off the beach!

^I asked LE if it would be cool if I took a picture. She replied: "Don't, I don't know how to get you out of this situation yet." I can't wait for her to be a lawyer.

So that is a picture reenactment of what went down. And there is my melting fudge pop. Then we continued to talk about black market ice cream. Overall, wonderful day.

Day 86 cont. - FYI

It appears the Catholic church and I have more in common than I may have thought.

Who knew...

Day 86 - I Wish I Had Some Clever Easter Title To Put Here

This weekend was Easter! Legal Eagle and I had wonderful weather out here and went hiking both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we went to Runyon Canyon and Sunday we went to Griffith Observatory. Hiking is difficult, especially when it is practically straight up hill. Also, how can teeny tiny dogs hiking be faster than me?

^At Griffith...also the sign the Simmons' girls saw on Daddy's Girls.

We did not see any mountain lions though. LE pondered what she would do if she saw a mountain lion. I said we would probably just pass out.

^LE crossing the bridge on our hike, leading her closer to the mountain lions.

Oh, but the best part of our hike was when we found a story to send to The National Enquirer.

^See...pregnant men do exist!!

We spent the rest of the day watching tons of cheesy movies and I did a little kitchen cleaning and then LE (and me just a little) made a yummy dinner and dessert!

^Corn and broccoli?! What am I, a vegetarian??

And finally, we also made a 3D bunny cake.

^LE made the cake and put it together and iced it. I made the ears and put them on and decorated the ears and put a bunny collar on it. It kind of looks like a puppy, but it's still super cute. We ate the tail last night. It was yummy.

So, it was a lovely little weekend. Oh, we also watched When A Stranger Calls and Rachel Getting Married. One was scary and the other was OK, but a little slow for me or something. Maybe it was so hyped up that it stood no chance of living up to it. But Anne Hathaway was good. But how stupid if you were in the scary movie and someone keeps calling you and you're like, "Oh whatever." Seriously, no one would act that way.

Day 85 - An Exciting Friday Night At The Sullisard Household

This is pretty typical as the cats and I wait for Legal Eagle to get home from class. Just think how exciting it will be once her summer break gets here!

^Schatzi enjoys showing me his yoga moves.

^Barbar brought me a plastic baggie from somewhere.

Today LE and I were talking about how just because we have cats, doesn't mean we are crazy cat ladies. I now think I was wrong in assuming this about myself.

Day 85 - Food For Thought

A while ago, my oldest sister told me about the newest Doritos -- Late Night Taco flavor. Yum!

^ Neon lights = good food!

So, after a long journey searching for these chips, I found them at Vons.

Unfortunately, they are the kind of thing that you look so forward to and will inevitably be let down. My problem with them is that they are too salsa-y and not cheesy enough. What are you more concerned about when having a late night taco -- salsa or cheese? Yeah, that's what I thought. Maybe I'll just stick with Nacho Cheese Doritos.

On another note: My lovely parents sent me some cookies from one of my new favorite places.

^ The best is the mint chocolate cookie...see the mint??

I think my dad first sent these when I had chicken pox/shingles a couple of years ago. And now my parents send them for holidays and stuff. Legal Eagle and I are always excited when we see the rectangular package. And luckily, I just bought some more milk today. Yum!

I really like food.

Day 84 - What Do I Think?

Lots has been going on, but today's blog will be about an email from Bride Brain's Matron of Honor. Here it is in its exact form:

Hey girl's, I have an idea for a gift for [Bride Brain] form all of us! There are these pictures at this store that are in shapes of letters, and they are made from old architectural things. You pick out letters that are spell your last name and then you put it in a picture frame and have it matted. It is awesome!! What did you guy's think of that? We would give that to her at her bridal shower.

Here are my many responses:

I think you have many spelling and grammar mistakes in this email.

I think I don't understand what this gift is. Please explain more clearly.

I think BB is going to have an ugly last name after the wedding, so why would you want it on display?

I think anyone who has their last name on display is dumb.

I think you are expecting too much of me gift-wise.

I think I would throw this in the trash if someone gave it to me.

I think this gift is not awesome!!

I think I will be ignoring this email.

I think I don't have money to waste on a name made out of "architectural things."

I think this is not going to go well...

Day 83 - Enough Is Enough

Dear Technology,

I've had enough. You were once useful when you were things like toasters and air conditioners. But now you are things like Facebook, Twitter and too many different kinds of phones that no one really needs. (except for the iPhone with applications that choose restaurants for you...awesome).

It's not that I don't like the internet (I mean, I do blog), but when was the last time I went to a library. And what information is really true...anything can be published online! It gets me wondering if children even go to libraries for school anymore and have to learn how to find books.

And what is with reading books off of Kindles? Ew.

You've gone too far technology. You make me want to delete my Facebook (but can't because some people are only reachable this way!). Now people Twitter about Twitter. And everyone expects you to respond to an email or text within seconds. First, I'm a slow texter. Second, I put my phone on silent because I hate phones. Third, occasionally people do have to use the bathroom.

Why can't you go back to bringing us quick ways to cook and creating new things instead of a million phones/ways to listen to music and stupid sites to update our sad lives. What was so wrong with records or cassette tapes?

Well they were too big to travel, you say.

But really, they were way cooler. Records, not cassettes.

Oh, why haven't you created the flying car (I don't mean planes) or a way for me to teleport? That would be useful.

Signed,
Me

Brittany Murphy today! And visitors tomorrow!

Day 82 - Faint

Tomorrow I am going to The Craig Ferguson Show and his guest is one of my idols: Brittany Murphy.

I'm dying.

Now if I can just meet Amanda Bynes, life will be grand.

I will let you know all about the show.
