Day 137 - Irrational Worries/Fears I Have

1. That I have pen on my face at work - I use a pen maybe 5 times a day and it's never close to my face yet I check my mirror constantly for pen marks as if it would magically jump onto my face.

2. That I'm not getting my emails - I constantly wonder, "Maybe I'm not getting my emails!" as if suddenly my email-getting abilities will disappear.

3. That I'll fall - Oy! I'm so afraid of falling every time I get up for anything.

4. That I'm staring at people - Oops...not irrational. I do stare.

5. That I will call someone by the wrong name - I'm in my head a lot...and I make up names for many people or often wonder about other people while talking to someone. Maybe not completely irrational?

6. That the buses will stop running - If I don't get a bus in 5 min. I'm always positive that bus drivers are on strike or something.

7. That my teeth are getting looser - Possibly because of my dental issues, but I swear sometimes my teeth feel wiggly.

8 . That I'll lose a shoe - No idea where this comes from, but I often find myself thinking how I would get home or wherever if I only had one shoe.

9. That I have toilet paper on my shoe - I watch too much TV.

10. That I'm going to spill coffee all over myself - Oops...not completely irrational. Some dribbled out of my cup yesterday, but not exactly on me.

Day 137 - How I Don't Like To Start My Mornings

Last week I had an exceptionally good morning one day and today is the opposite:

- I missed my first bus. By about a minute and then had to trek down to the dentist at 7AM.

- I finally made it to the dentist and was there for 2.5 hours. And came out with mostly bad news. But no cavities. Tired.

- I forgot to eat breakfast.

- There was a guy on my bus who coughed in my direction and also shook out his piece of cardboard around me and everyone else. I have a feeling I smell like the bus right now.

- Since I spent so much time at the dentist I will be staying late at work.

But it's noon and I'm bound to turn my day around. I'll be productive. Legal Eagle is taking care of dinner. My mom sent me a funny Web site (although they talk about ugly clothes and some I think aren't so bad), and I'm wearing a cozy outfit. And I am soooo taking an early lunch!

Tuesday, we're not through yet!

Day 136 cont. - Life Is A TV Show

Legal Eagle: I never change the litter box or feed the cats.

Me: It's OK. It doesn't take that long. I don't mind doing it.

LE: I'm such an absentee parent.

Me: You and Jon Gosselin.

LE: I'm like [my boss] with [his dog].

Me: You, [your boss] and Jon Gosselin.

PAUSE

Me: Minus all the Ed Hardy clothing.

Day 136 - Halloween 3.0

Ever since moving to California, I must admit that Legal Eagle and I have had some fun Halloweens. It has to be our best holiday out here and it's always fairly last minute and pulled together in a snap. I feel this year will be no different.

To recap: Year 1 we went to a club with LE's sister-in-law who was visiting. Danced the night away and had a million laughs.

Year 2 we went to a bar with LE's coworker and others. Low-key, karaoke, dancing and a good time.

Year 3 we will be revisiting year 2 and heading to the same place with LE's coworker and others. We had planned on staying local, but this will be lots of fun as this bar is our style and the people are always interesting. So, let's pro-con this Halloween a little. I already know pros will win, but I'm dying to make a list, so just deal.

PRO: Cheap drinks! I just know the drinks will be cheaper at this bar than where we were going to go. Face it, that's important.

CON: We have to drive to Orange County...OK, this isn't so bad because we will drive during the day and come back the next day, but alas, we have to drive.

PRO: We have somewhere to crash!

CON: I will have to wake up (hungover) at someone else's place. Not really all that bad, but I'll eventually have to haul back to my place instead of just being at my place.

PRO: Going out with a fun group of people.

PRO: Going to a bar where the people we are going with know the people who run the place. Always nice to have an automatic in and be taken care of!

CON: I'll still be in Orange County.

PRO: Orange County people are fun to watch.

PRO: I think I will be meeting one of the friends I am being set up with.

CON: I think I will be meeting one of the friends I am being set up with.

Ahh...you ask why both pro and con...time for another list!

PRO: He may be awesome for all I know.

CON: Meeting on Halloween, in costume?? Could be weird and leaves me unable to judge someone based on what they wear on a normal day.

PRO: He may have an awesome costume on and I may look totally adorable.

CON: I have to work extra hard to look totally adorable.

PRO: I may have someone there who will pay lots of attention to me.

CON: He may find someone he likes better...yeah right...

PRO: We'll be in a huge group, less pressure.

CON: If he knows we are being set up, it could be awkward and forced. If he doesn't know, I may get rejected.

PRO: Let's face it, he'll likely adore me.

CON: He lives in Orange County, possible Republican.

PRO: It's been a long time since I've been on a date.

CON: He lives in Orange County...that would be long-distance dating.

Eh, for all I know he may come down with swine flu and not make it. But I'm sure if he does you will be getting another pro-con list and lots of Halloween stories. I'm getting excited!!!

EDIT: PRO/CON: I am still currently missing a tooth. Odds are I will mention this. Either makes me totally awesome and funny or just a girl with a missing tooth. We shall see!

Day 135 cont. - This Week's Fashions

Look at me, ahead of schedule!

^Monday: Best thing about chillier weather is jackets! So much easier to look professional and pulled together.

^Tuesday: Yes, I wore knee highs to work. Professional or not? Apparently I no longer think that's an issue.

Not at work on Wednesday.

^Thursday: I LOVE this!!!!! First, someone send it to my dad because he will die that I am wearing this shirt. Second, I should be in London or something. Sorry, I cannot get over my adorableness in this picture.

^Friday: Hippie cute! This is Legal Eagle's vest that was her mom's I believe. I hated my closet this morning, so I just had to raid hers.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!! Until next week...or whenever I manage to bloggy blog some more.

Day 135 cont. - Last Week's Fashions

I know! I'm so behind! But here you go...

^Monday: I think I couldn't figure out what to wear, so skinny jeans are always a backup.

^Tuesday: I LOVE this outfit. It's so fall and I love the unfitted jacket with the girly skirt and boots.

^Wednesday: Where did I get a gray skirt you ask? Oh, that would be my gray dress under a sweater. Voila!

^Thursday: Oh my god! I look so '80s! Why did I let myself out of the house this way. I can only wonder what my coworkers think...

^Friday: Looking professional and paying homage to DVF with a semi-wrap dress (her hubby is our head honcho and was at our office).

OK kiddos...doubling up and will post this week's fashions in 5 seconds!

Day 135 - How I Like To Start My Mornings

Today I had a fabulous morning. The rest of the day was pretty blah, but the morning was a combo of oddness and awesomeness.

First, I was walking to my bus. Upon walking I noticed a young boy standing frozen in a walking position with his little roll-y school bag. I stared and stared wondering why he would be frozen and if there was some illness or injury that makes people freeze...because I live in Hogwart's world or something? As I passed him I continued to keep looking back and still frozen, not swaying or anything. But, at one point, I turned back he was standing, looking and smiling at me. I couldn't help but laugh. I love weird kids.

Second, I was picking up a package at the post office from my mom (already makes my day awesome). A bunch of us are waiting in line, me and some guys. While I am waiting one of the guys is being helped and is grabbing a box or something so he has to pass me. He stops and says, "I know it's early so maybe no one has told you, but you look very pretty." He wasn't cute, but it wasn't said all pervy, plus I had been very mad at my hair that morning. Anywho, it was nice to hear.

Third, bagel day at work.

Fourth, an hour-long meeting at work where I could just kick back.

Not too bad and almost time to leave!

Day 134 - Beauty Thoughts

I'm a blush/bronzer addict and am currently thinking about laying off of it a bit and focusing on wearing more eyeshadow, you know, to bring out my big eyes. This all may or may not have anything to do with Legal Eagle wearing purple eyeshadow yesterday and looking awesome.

Monday, October 19, 2009

Day 133 - Oh, OK...

You have really big eyes. Like they're pretty, they're just so big and blue.

^I was told this on Saturday by someone I dislike greatly. I'm pretty sure this is a compliment, but it came off so rude. Considering I'm already pretty weird about getting compliments (I either say "I know" or "Oh, uh..." and mumble a thank you eventually.), this person should have just said that I have pretty eyes. It's not like my eyes are unusually big; people have mentioned before that they are pretty, but I wouldn't say I resemble a bug or alien.

Day 132 - Fashion From Last Week!

Yeah, yeah, I'm really late on this. And I'm in a pouty mood. Oh, and I slipped down the stairs yesterday and am sore, sore, sore. So here you go:

^Monday: I remember I didn't want to do anything this day. This is the result. Eh.

^Tuesday: Finally it got chilly enough to wear my awesome pants. Plus they make me look professional.

^Wednesday: I'm pretty darn cute!

^Thursday: Why does my work let me dress like I'm going to a club or something? I wonder what they think of my clothes...

^Friday: I didn't think I'd like this, but I did.

Not much to say today...I'm tired and, did I mention, sore?

Day 131 - Fashion From Last Week!

Wow, I'm actually managing to do this before the end of the week. Maybe because I'm avoiding doing anything I should be doing.

^Monday: Repeat outfit.

^Tuesday: Work convo below:

Head of HR: That's a cute jacket.

Me: Oh, thanks! (in head) It's totally not a jacket. I win!

^Wednesday: Love this jacket. Sure it's more spring appropriate, but in California it's always spring, except when it's deadly hot summer.

^Thursday: I look tan. That is all.

^Friday: Hmm...this is a lot cuter than I thought it would be.

Now, I haven't done laundry in a while and am waiting until Legal Eagle and I are house/dogsitting this weekend and I can do laundry for free...so outfits should be interesting this week!
