Day 273 - Don't Jump To Conclusions

I think I may have seen the Brit leaving Dillion's and walking with another girl.

There wasn't anything "date-y" about how they were walking, no hand holding or touching, but still.

OK, let's back track.

We hung out Saturday night.

I emailed him Monday afternoon a cute joke thing about some ongoing bet we have about a celebrity marriage.

I heard NOTHING!

We had said "Let's do something later this week" as we both had lots going on at the beginning of the week.

So, this paired with possibly seeing the girl is more than I want to deal with especially since I've been having just a rough week.

My first thought is that it could always be his roommate's now-ex-girlfriend who was visiting at some point soon who the Brit is also friends with and mentioned earlier this week that his roommate's friend would be in town. But I don't know that he would call the ex his roommate's friend since he's told me about them already.

He is the kind of guy who has girl friends which is fine.

It'd all be fine if I had heard from him in the last 3-4 days!

I just feel after 2 months of dating, things should be a little different. He should want to touch base with me from time to time.

So, as I figured there was no non-insane way of saying "I saw you...with a girl today," I decided to shoot him a "How's your week?" text tonight. Possibly foolish of me.

But, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt to have a conversation.

But, I also want a lot of questions answered before I see him again, if I do. I know I'm not OK with him dating someone else at this point and not with the annoyingly nice things he says to me. And if that's where I stand, as Steve Harvey believes, then that's what I should get. I just want to know what's going on, and I want more attention then a text here and there which usually only happens after I start the conversation.

For now, as Legal Eagle told me, don't jump to any conclusions.

Yet so far, no word from him.

Keep you updated.

Day 272 - Other Stuff

I feel like all I write about is The Brit on here. Yeesh.

So, other stuff that is going on in my life...

I'm trying to think of a really good Halloween costume. I'd love to do something really creative, but I am failing to be creative and think of anything. Not that I have Halloween plans, but it's always good to plan ahead.

I'm going home for Turkey Day. First time in 3 years. Pretty exciting. I'm looking forward to eating the usuals that my family makes, not having to listen to all the fun they are having over the phone, the post-eating walk, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, turkey hands, and much, much more (but not the cold weather).

The family is going to Austin, Texas for Christmas. It is official, tickets bought, everything booked. We usually go away for Christmas, but have been home in Chicago for the last two, so we are all anxious to get out of town! And no cold weather for this girly!

I'm very ready for the next few months.

Day 271 - Our First Fight

The Brit and I technically had our first fight.

Here's what went down:

We made plans on Tuesday to go out Thursday. He chose the day.

Thursday morning we talked about going out and he was all excited since he last saw me almost a week ago.

Thursday afternoon we talk some more and he slips in how tired he is (from not getting much sleep the night before and having a big lunch that day) and wants to reschedule.

I do not react nicely to any of this.

I text him back messages like "Let's not bother" in reference to rescheduling and "I'm obviously some sort of inconvenience to you." The conversation ends with that.

Then, I eventually break the ice (per Legal Eagle's advice) some time later after I've cooled off.

We talk, he continues to apologize and explain. I still don't really care for the excuse and whatever, but I think it's something we can get past.

All I need is for him to understand that he can't treat me that way and I think he's getting it. Well, he should since I told him that.

We'll see how things go from here, but he knows I'm not happy.

We're trying to work out getting together sometime, but I'm slammed with work the next two days.

I'll keep you updated.

Day 270 - Instant Mood Lifter

The other day I was looking at Facebook, but instead of looking at my college classmates, I went back to high school.

And apparently, all the girls I went to school with are married/engaged to short, fat, bald men or wannabe guidos.

How great do I feel right now?!

Seriously, there were at least 3 girls who used to be cheerleaders with guys who had on "Affliction" shirts. And the guys have hair that at least stand 3 inches tall.

And then there were even more girls with these little round men.

I'm sure this sounds a little harsh, but whatever. I'd say these guys have great personalities, but I saw the pictures, they only have blank stares.

It is just very rewarding to know that everyone else settled down with a toad. I don't care how shallow I sound right now.

Day 269 - Tendonitis

I supposedly have tendonitis of my knee.

That's cool.

I just have to take lots of Ibuprofen/Motrin and not walk very much, which will be easy since I don't walk anywhere except everywhere.

Now I'm really wishing I would have done my laundry this weekend like I had planned because I probably shouldn't be walking up and down those extra stairs.

This is dumb.

Day 268 cont. - Maybe He'll Start Working For Me

^As I got up to make lunch, Schatzi did not hesitate to take my "office" chair. I was hoping if I left him alone long enough he'd feel compelled to do my work. He didn't, but I suspect it's because he doesn't know how to spell Lohan.

Day 268 - Well, If You Have To Work While In Palm Springs...

^...it's probably best to do it in a cabana with a mai tai next to you.

I had to work the Saturday that we were there. Luckily Melvin didn't have to suffer in the sun, but I didn't have to stay secluded in the room working. Oh, and Legal Eagle ordered me a drink and had it sent over. Talk about fabulous.

Day 267 - Something's Cooking In The Kitchen

I had an impromptu dinner and movie date with The Brit last night.

After some texting during the late afternoon, we decided to go grab a movie at Blockbuster and cook dinner together at my place. It was disgustingly cute.

The Brit had caught part of Top Chef last time he was at my place and had been itching to cook since then. He doesn't cook much. But at least he's really interested in cooking, which I think is more important (in order for me to train him into cooking for me all the time).

We went to Trader Joe's. He likes to make me go there because I've told him how much I hate it and he absolutely adores it.

We got this orange chicken thing that is so good (although frozen). We made stir fry with it, per my suggestion.

While at the store, we ran into one of his friends who I have met before and think seems like the nicest guy, very mellow, polite and low-key. But, it was one of those moments that makes you feel very date-y/relationship-y.

So, moving on. We went home and cooked. I asked him to chop the veggies because onions make me cry. However, he apparently does not really have a method for chopping veggies. I just about died watching because it took forever. I offered a few tips and it eventually all got chopped. At least he did know how to cook them.

The dinner ended up really great. It was a lot of fun and a nice, cheap date. He got the movie and I bought dinner. I'm still trying to figure out how to offer to pay for things (since I'm so used to mooching), but I think I handled it well last night since I knew dinner stuff would cost a little more.

Oh, and he's not religious, phew. It just came up last night and we feel the same way about religion for the most part.

Oh, and when his mom visits, he takes her to a salon in Beverly Hills to get her nails done.

OK, I actually have some work I should be doing.

Day 265 - I Love My Bed

OK, here are pics of my bed!

^Voila! Check it out.

^Close up of the bedding.

^Barbar insisted I take another picture.

OK, now let's talk bedding. This is probably one of the first times I have purchased something, looked high and low at what I liked and taken my time with the overall project.

First, let's talk sheets. Mine are much softer than I thought they would be considering they are from the teen section. I looked for close to a year for my dream sheets and then had to save the money since these cost more than I had when I found them. But now I am considering buying the blue version as well just to be able to switch it up and since I love the print so much.

Second, comforter. I have a down alternative and wouldn't want it any other way. Some people prefer down comforters, but I find they don't have the heaviness that down alternatives have and I love. Also, they don't get lumpy like I have seen down comforters get at times. Oh, and I paid less than $50 for mine. And get black. It just makes sense, no?

Third, duvet cover. I LOVE mine. The gray is perfect, really perfect. And it's so soft. It was, of course, more than I have paid for bedding, but this was a birthday gift. So if you can, redo your bed around your birthday. Oh, and the buttons for the duvet cover and done so that you don't see them. Know what I mean? It always bothered me with my old one.

Fourth, pillows. Here is where I messed up a little. One set of pillows (covered in pink) are perfect for me. Soft enough, but not mush or flat. The other set is way tough. I got "plush pillows" and they look great when on my bed, but they are too hard. I either partially sleep on them or move them out of the way. They may or may not soften up over time, but I can deal for now. But as far as appearance, they look good at least.

Fifth, extra bedding supplies. I have a memory foam thing and I think these things are essential. However, egg crates are better and I'm considering upgrading. I had one in college and it was heaven. These things help if you didn't pay a ton for an awesome mattress. However, they do cost a little, but I swear by them.

OK, so that's all. Hope you are jealous of my bed!

Day 264 - I'm Kind Of Failing At This Blog

I know! I haven't checked in much.

Things are busy. Last weekend I was in Palm Springs (pics to come) and this week I have been swamped with work.

But things are good. Palm Springs was so much fun and very relaxing. Basically, we hung out in the pool all day. Can't complain.

Work has been the same. Just getting stuff done and trying to catch up because I slipped behind. Whoops!

Legal Eagle and I are planning to run a 5K in December. It's some holiday 5K and is in Venice/Santa Monica. Should be cool.

Still going out with the Brit. We have a lot of fun together and I'm hoping to have him meet LE and her bf in a couple of weeks when she has a free weekend. He seems to quite like me. But I also know he is trying to focus on music a lot right now. It's hard to tell where you stand with someone else unless you flat out ask them.

Hmm...I'll post more later, but I still have boxes in my room from my birthday and I feel like I should really do something about that finally. Oy.
